Lava Filter percolation devices are designed to filter out particulate matter from your vapor. With regular use, it’s normal for particles and residues to build up inside the device. To maintain optimal performance and ensure the best vapor quality, regular cleaning is recommended. We suggest two effective cleaning methods that work for any of our percolators:

Isopropyl Alcohol >95% and Sea Salt: Fill your percolator with isopropyl alcohol until it covers any residues you want to clean. Add 1-2 tablespoons of sea salt to coat the dirty surfaces. Seal the openings and shake the device well to ensure the salt and alcohol mix coats all surfaces. Let it sit overnight. In the morning, shake it again to dislodge any stubborn buildup, then discard the mixture. Rinse thoroughly with warm water to eliminate any alcohol traces. Enjoy!

Grunge Off: For tougher residues that don’t come off with the previous method, fill your percolator with Grunge Off until it covers the areas needing cleaning. Seal the openings and shake well to coat all surfaces. Let it sit overnight, then shake again in the morning to remove any remaining residue. Pour the used Grunge Off into a reusable container (it can be used multiple times, so don’t discard it). Rinse your percolator thoroughly with warm water to ensure all traces of Grunge Off are gone. Enjoy!
